PRE - SEASON NEWS
Railroaders team players arrive in Fulton. (May
players arrived in Fulton on Tuesday and began
preparations for the 2017 season; which begins on
Thursday in Madisonville. The remaining players on the
roster are due to arrive in the next few days. After the
initial briefing, the players were outfitted with
uniforms, assigned housing, received general information
and had pictures taken (see Roster Page).

handed pitcher Carter Bair has joined the
Railroaders as all the players arrive today for the 2017
season. Bair is a junior at Middle Tennessee State
University. He is 6'3" tall and weighs in at 215
pounds. He hails from Columbia TN.
Railroaders first game will be on the road in
Madisonville to take on the Miners. Fulton's first home
game is this Friday at Lohaus Field hosting the Miners.
Youth Baseball Camps. (May
27, 2017) The
Railroaders have scheduled to put on two Youth Baseball
Camps on June 10th and 24th. The time will be 9am till
12 for both dates. More info to follow

24, 2017) The
Railroaders have added a their second assistant coach
for the upcoming season. Dustin Delgado is a grad
assistant at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
His college play was at Middle Tennessee State where he
play infield position.

University is sending William Seewer to the
Railroaders in June. He is a freshman right handed
pitcher from Louisville, Kentucky. Seewer stands
6'1" and weighs 190 pounds.

Community College's freshman Kenton Robillard has been
pulled from Fulton's roster due to an elbow injury.
Tacoma is sending Owens Parsons to refill the
infield position spot for the Railroaders. Parsons is a
freshman standing 6'1" and weighing in at 185
pounds. He is also a left handed hitter. Roster count
remains at 23 total players at this point.

Arevalo from Barry University has signed on as a
right handed pitcher for the Railroaders. He is a
freshman standing 6'0" and weighing 180
pounds. His hometown is Miami FL.
Strandts and Wes Anderson have had to drop out due to injury
and coaching decisions. The roster now stands at 22
players to date.

Rayburn has signed on with Fulton as a right handed
pitcher. He is a junior at the University of Tennessee
at Martin. Rayburn is 6'1" and weighs 200 pounds.

Justin Fowlkes from Belmont University in
Nashville has signed on
the 2017 season. The left handed pitcher gives Fulton 7
lefties to throw from the mound. Fowlkes is 6 feet tall,

Livingston has will serve as the Railroaders
pitching coach for 2017. He was a senior left handed
pitcher for the University of Southern Mississippi's
Golden Eagles in 2016. Cody was tabbed by Baseball America as one of Conference USA’s top 20 prospects for 2016 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft.

years the Railroaders have been fortunate to sign
several great players from Tacoma Community College, and
this year TTC is providing three more freshman for the
2017 Railroaders roster.
Geiger gives the Railroaders their fifth left handed
pitcher. He stands 6'4" and weighs in at 185
pounds. James' hometown is Redmond, WA.
Wikel plays outfield positions, bats and throws
right. He is 5'11" and weighs 180. Jake also is
from Redmond, WA.
Robillard plays infield positions, bats and throws
right. He stands 5'10" and weighs 175. His hometown
is Puyallup, WA. The
2017 roster now has 17 players total signed.

10, 2016) Fulton
has added to more players for the 2017 season, both from
Barry University in Florida.
Salata returns for another season with the
Railroaders. The big lefthander and power hitter plays
first base, outfield positions and can also hit. Salata
joined the 2016 roster in mid season and appeared in 17
games. He lead the Railroaders with a .397 batting
average, a .931 slugging average and had 9 homeruns, the
most for the team on the year. Paul is from Norwalk CT.
Rapoza joins his college teammate to play with the
Railroaders as a catcher. He is a freshman standing 6
feet and weighing in at 200 pounds. Rapoza's hometown is
New Bedford MA.

are sophomores from the University of Alabama at

right. He is 6'2" in height and weighs 200 pounds.

2, 2016) Fulton has signed Drew Martinez as the head coach for the Railroaders for the 2017 season. Drew is in his first year as an assistant coach at the University of Memphis and played there from 2009 to 2011. He was on the 2009
All-CUSA Freshman Team, 2010 2nd team All- CUSA, and 2011 2nd team
His high school years were spent at Christian Brothers High School where he helped them to State Championships in 2005 and 2007.
In 2009, Martinez played in the Valley League All-Star Game and was the game’s MVP. He was also a Cape Cod League All-Star and part of the All-Cape Cod Team in 2010.
The New York Mets drafted Drew in 2010 in the 23rd round and the Los Angeles Angels in 2011 in the 10th round. He played in the Angels Organization for 2 years.
He played independent baseball for the Gary Southshore Railcats for two years helping them to a League Championship in 2013. He was selected as an American Association All-Star in 2014 and All-American Association team in 2014 as well. He played for the Laredo Lemurs helping them to an American Association League Championship in 2015 and played for the Laredo lemurs in 2016.
In 2015, Martinez coached High School baseball for First Assembly of Christ and followed by coaching at Collierville High School in 2016.
Drew’s father, Chito Martinez, played baseball professional in MLB for the Baltimore Orioles and was the first Belizian to play major league baseball.

OVL welcomes the Henderson Flash.
24, 2016) The
OVL met on Saturday in Madisonville and granted a
franchise to Henderson, KY. The team name is Flash and
will begin play in the upcoming season scheduled to
begin on June 1, 2017. The addition of the Flash builds
the league to 8 teams total. The Henderson Flash will
play their home games at Henderson County High School's
B.T. Wayne Field.
OVL also voted to split the league into two divisions,
the East and West. The East division will consist of the
Henderson Flash, Dubois County Bombers, Owensboro Oilers
and Muhlenberg Stallions. The West division will contain
the Fulton Railroaders, Paducah Chiefs, Hopkinsville
Hoppers and Madisonville Miners. The 2017 OVL schedule
is forthcoming with each team playing 40 regular season
games, 20 home & 20 away. An All Star game will be
scheduled for July 9 and will be played at Dubois
County's League Stadium. Post Season Playoff schedule is
